Traverse City, Mich. - 04/07/2005 - Traverse City Street Department workers Brandon Southwell and Dave Bedford watch as Mark Jones removes dirt from the J. Smith Walkway in downtown Traverse City to begin improving the walkway. Phase one of the project, involves restoring the cement walkway and adding some landscaping with city funds. Phase two will be hopefully be funded by citizen donations. "It is a cooperative effort to restore the walkway," said Bob Cole of Traverse City Public Services.
