Durango will be auction off as part of Poli's 4-H project in the Northwestern Michigan Fair later Thursday. Poli has work 7 months with Durango. "It's really sad getting them when they are young and watching them grown up, they almost become part of the family," Poli said.

Escaping the Flames - Photo

Traverse City, Mich. - 08/10/2005 - Joshua Chapin, 18, is lifted by his mother Stephanie Walker. He and his grandfather Bill Parrish, 64, jumped from the steam train that goes by Clinch Park Zoo, after it hit a diesel fuel line and erupted into flames. Chapin who has disabilities was assisted by his grandfather in the jump and broke both his legs escaping from the flames. Parrish said the car he and his grandson were riding in was fully engulfed in flames and they had little choice but to jump.

Deadly Accident - Photo

Interlochen, Mich - 08/09/2005 - Michigan State Police take measurements at the scene of an accident that took the life of Benize County Sheriff Deputy Cory Lee Gunther, near Interlochen, Mich., Tuesday August 9, 2005. Michigan State police from Traverse City said it appears a passenger car pulled out from Fewins Road into the path of Gunther's motorcycle that was heading down Reynolds Road. The accident occurred just after 7:30 a.m. Gunther was not on duty at the time of the accident.
