TC Central Defeats TC West - Photo


Traverse City Central's Ben Amon (42) takes a handoff from Robbie Harman (3) as TC West's Corey Keyton (54) looks to make the stop Friday night at Thirlby Field. Harman's 75-yard kickoff return with 51.4 seconds left lifted the Trojans to victory.

Traverse City, Mich. - 10/21/2005 - Traverse City Central's Jack Begley (25) drives his way into TC West defenders William Conklin (22), Anthony Thompson (6) and Eric Wehr (43) as he tries to make some yardage during the cross-town rivals match up Friday night. Central defeated West 37-30.

Bellaire Fire - Photo


Joe Short owner of Shorts Brewing Company surveys the damage to The Bellaire Review Newspaper and Masonic Temple which were next door to his company, Friday Oct. 21, 2005 in Bellaire, Mich. Short who lives above the brewing company was awakened late Thursday by his bartender alerting him to the fire. Shot attempted to fight the fire with a garden hose till firefighters evacuated him and his girlfriend from his balcony.

Drum Line - Photo


Traverse City, Mich. - 10/20/2005 - Members of the Traverse City West High School marching band drum line will be participating in a benefit dubbed "Music of My Life" at 6 p.m. Saturday at West Senior High School. Money raised from the benefit will go toward a music scholarship set up in Adrian Morris' name. Morris was a member of the marching band and killed in a car accident August 2004. Members included in the picture are Cam Williams, Cam Hoy, Grace O'Malley, David Sattler, Adam Wilson, and Joe Welburn.

"It really looks beautiful now," Bartlett said. "In another week or so they will all be down and it will be a big job to get them cleaned up."
