Just taking a couple days off in Holland, Mich., so I may miss a day or two uploading pictures.

Katrina Relief - Photo

Traverse City, Mich. - 09/08/2005 - Fifth Grader Emily Cain, 10, and Andy Powell look over some of the 54 stuffed animals she is sending to the Katrina hurricane area as part of a relief package. Emily decided to help the kids by sending the stuffed animals to them. She packaged each one in a plastic bag and also enclosed a hand written note with each one, wishing them well.

House Fire - Photo

Traverse City, Mich. - 09/08/2005 - Firefighters respond to a blaze that destroyed a home at 881 Woodcreek Blvd. Thursday evening. The occupant, Romeo Bouthillier, was not home at the time of the fire and no one was injured. Some siding on surrounding homes was also damaged. Firefighters from Garfield, East Bay and Traverse City responded to the fire just after 6 p.m., said Grand Traverse Fire spokesman Randy Agruda.

Traverse City, Mich. - 09/06/2005 - Traverse City swimmer Elyse Schultz plows her way through the water as she does the 200 meter freestyle during Traverse Cities match up with Saginaw Heritage at the Grand Traverse Civic Center. Schultz came in second with a time of 2.05.11.
